A Tale of Three Agencies: The Section 508 Playbook
Tuesday, July 18, 2023
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Eastern Time Zone
Description
Every agency should develop, implement, and maintain a strategic Section 508 plan as part of their broader, multi-faceted accessibility program. This webinar will highlight policies and strategies employed by the Social Security Administration, Veterans Administration, and the FDIC that may be adapted for use by other agencies. In addition, resources such as the Section 508 Playbook will also be referenced to help agencies, at any stage of their program maturity level, chart a more progressive path forward. Section 508 Coordinators, IT Specialists, Reasonable Accommodation Specialists and Disability Program Managers are encouraged to participate.
Participants may submit questions in advance of the webinar during the registration process or may ask questions during the live session.
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning will be provided.

We are preparing training for general staff on the 'proper' way to save a Word file to PDF. We'd appreciate recommendation and/or feedback regarding this process and what other organizations include in their 'best practices'. (1) Use Word's normal "Save as PDF", but the PDF produced is not as compliant and does not include bookmarks. (2) Use Word's "Copy > save as"; set to PDF, set a couple other options, and review/edit the title. |

On a regular basis, we have Excel sheets with relatively large tables that need to be posted to our website. When these are converted to PDF, we have many issues with tags, table headers, elements, etc. Is there a preferred method for either setting up a template in Excel that would minimize these issues, or for addressing these issues more efficiently within the PDF? |
