The ADA is a legal obligation which HR managers,employers and covered entities must adhere to. Many educational sessions focus on the "how to accommodate" or "what an employer can and can't do under the ADA". Few programs provide employers with the information that they need to understand the types of disabilities that they may encounter with their applicants and employees. Mental illness is one of the most prevalent disabilities in society yet it is also among the most misunderstood.
